Shoot the bull
To make this more of a community, let's have a thread where we can talk about anything. Get to know each other and gay stuff like that

Re: Shoot the bull
I've always wanted my own backyard range. I'd be out there all the time. Unfortunately I'm still in college so that's not an option for me.

I wouldn't consider it either backyard or a range, but on a few occasions I went on this open, unlevel piece of land outside city limits and set up a barrel cover with a paper target on a sapling in front of a hill to shoot my Mini-14.
BTW that M44 looks fucking godly!

Vinegar.
I'll keep that in mind if I ever want to remove the bluing from my WASR bolt, or are WASR bolts not blued?

Naval jelly works pretty well too. Comet also works pretty good on parkerizing/phosphate finish if you pair it with a scrubbing pad.

Re: Shoot the bull
I haven't been able to shoot my Mosin but once, and I didn't have any idea on how to adjust the front sight (trying to sight in without bayonet). What techniques did y'all use to sight in a 91/30?
It has the front sight that only slides left and right, I was thinking I might have to use a punch to move it.

Re: Shoot the bull
You will. and once you get it off it's a bitch to get back on again without using some sort of shimmy to hold it in place. Mine fell off before. and it was awhile before I could get it to stay on permanently again.Nugget wrote:I haven't been able to shoot my Mosin but once, and I didn't have any idea on how to adjust the front sight (trying to sight in without bayonet). So I should just be careful when I hit it?

Re: Shoot the bull
Yeah, i guess. just take a punch and keep drifting it until it comes out. once it comes out you might not be able to actually put it back in permanently. you might need to shim it with something. I'd recommend some sort of thin sheet metal or a couple layers of tin foil. something that won't rot away. all you have to do is cut it out to size then drift the sight back into the base with the material on there to keep it shimmed.Nugget wrote:Admin wrote:You will. and once you get it off it's a bitch to get back on again without using some sort of shimmy to hold it in place.
