My local gun shop usually has pretty good deals on ammo, other than that I'll just do a google search to see if anything is on sale or buy the cheapest I find.

Unless I'm just buying at a range just to shoot it off minutes later, I don't have a specific place. I go to my local gunpawn to buy surplus rations for my WASR while I usually go to a Wal-Mart to buy commercial stuff for my other guns. Last time I checked my local gun pawn sells fully-loaded Garand clips for $5 each so if/when I get my Garand I'll probably feed it with those.

The one thing I hate about the garand is the expensive ammo.Bohemian wrote:Unless I'm just buying at a range just to shoot it off minutes later, I don't have a specific place. I know what you mean. I wonder if Patton ever wondered that his favorite rifle would one day cost 50 cents per round to feed (I'm rounding down to consider the cost of the clip itself).Admin wrote:The one thing I hate about the garand is the expensive ammo.Bohemian wrote:Unless I'm just buying at a range just to shoot it off minutes later, I don't have a specific place. and on that note I still think a garand chambered in 7.62 x 54r would be a good idea.Bohemian wrote:I know what you mean. Not sure that's a good idea, but now that you mention it do you think the CMP might have some Korean-War-era NATO Garands?Admin wrote:and on that note I still think a garand chambered in 7.62 x 54r would be a good idea.Bohemian wrote:I know what you mean. Re: where do fellow kommando clubers buy ammo
I buy my ammo from local shops. This past week I picked up a case (1000rnds) of 7.62x39 for 265.00+tax and a spamcan (440rnds) of 7.62x54r for 99.99+tax. Otherwise I would use Google shopping.

Sometimes local, mostly from ammoman or aimsurplus.
