So what grade garand are you guys going to buy?
I'm a cheapass so I'm probably going to go with field grade. Rack grade sounds like it has too many problems with it.

Too rich for my blood. One of the field grade ones is going to be an entire paycheck.

CA has a higher cost of livng than a lot of states. Bigger checks out here, if you are good with money it opens more doors.

I'm studying to become a gunsmith anyway. so if it arrives in rough condition it would be a fun project to restore it.JosepyK wrote:CA has a higher cost of livng than a lot of states. Bigger checks out here, if you are good with money it opens more doors.

I admit, that would be sweet. Nothing better than knowing and building/rebuilding inside and out. I don't have that kind of time at the moment though.

I have a quick noob question. Can the CMP ship to a CA address without any complications? I live in Southern California, anti gun person capitol of the world, and I want a Garand like no tomorrow.

I got the money set aside for 3 or 4 rack grade ones. Probably will end up doing one of the m14 synthetic stock conversions as a nice range toy to make everyone jelly. hell if I know what I'll do with the others, but you can never have too many guns.

This is what I would like to do with one impactgunsDOTcom/sage-m14-tactical-stock-m14alcsDOTaspx or impactgunsDOTcom/sage-m14-tactical-stock-coyote-tan-m14alcscoyotetanDOTaspx take that to the range lol. nice beta mag and just dump 100 rounds down range to see everyone's face. Do you know the wait time it takes to get approved? I'd like to get another project going soon

Not sure of the approval time. But I'll most likely be shipping the club's papers out in monday or tuesday.K177 wrote:Admin wrote:Holy shit I'm jealous. one rack grade garand will cost an entire paycheck for me.K177 wrote:I got the money set aside for 3 or 4 rack grade ones. I was thinking Service Grade as well for the same reason. Buying anything sight unseen gives me a tinge of nervousness, and if I'm gonna spend that kind of money, best to drop in the extra $100 to be sure it's in good shape.

I'm thinking of doing service grade. I don't want to spend more than $1000 on a gun, especially not a milsurp gun, but I'm usually not fond of wear on the gun. I mainly want a garand that's nice and clean so service grade seems right.
